Qualifying Scores

3-Di's recognition structures reward excellence, whether that be Provincial / National, and later Protea.

These qualifying criteria are evaluated at the conclusion of each Tournament calendar year, and updated and amended if necessary.
It was however Resolved in Nov 2011 that Qualifying scores will only be updated in May 2012, as there was no data to bace the qualifying Criteria for specifically the HCA / MAE and FAE classes.

*   May will afford us ample time to implement fact based Provincial & National Criteria.

*   Bear in mind that the majority of the classes will increase by around 3-5 points.

This has become a necessity due to our competitive nature as target archers, part due to technological advancement, but mainly due to determination / perseverance and hard work.

In the Advanced hunter Class for instance, 180’s and 190’s were winning scores 2 years ago.
Today we have ties at 207, scores that would have placed in the top 10 at the IBO Worlds.

Stay up to date with the recognition criteria of each of the competitive classes, but bear in mind that they do change at the end of each year.

How do I register a Weighted Average (WA):

The Weighted Average (WA) scoring system plays a vital role in the awarding of the ABO’s Provincial / National and Protea recognition, and possible inclusion onto the International Teams for International events.

The WA scoring system will afford you the maximum opportunity to attain the Provincial / National and Protea criteria.
When entering enough events in the revolving (12) month period, your lowest scores can be omitted from the WA calculating formula. And good scores can help you surpass the Provincial & National Criteria, especially if they are some of your most recent scores.
An registered archer must have competed in a minimum of (4) sanctioned ABO / 3-Di sanctioned tournaments within a revolving 12 month period.

From these sanctioned tournaments the best (4) scores (S) are taken and the following calculation is applied:
•S1 being the Oldest
•S4 being your Most Recent (MR)
•Most Recent may not be older than 90 Days
